Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669) had a number of signature variations. He often used his first name "Rembrandt" written in cursive followed by an "f" standing for "fecit" meaning "he made" and the date.
Rembrandt also used monograms that varied from his first initial "R" to "RI" "RH" "RL." The monogram "RHL" is understood to be the monogram for his son.
Some historians note that he started with the shorthand monogram and used the full spelling of his first name after 1632. Rembrandt also used different spellings for his name: "Rembrant" and Rembrandt."
